GENERAL INFORMATION

We provide care and education for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.

We are open for 5 days per week, offering morning, afternoon, full day sessions as well as breakfast and afterschool provision.

The morning session takes place from 8.45 to 11.45 am.

The afternoon session takes place from 12.15 to 3.15 pm.

Children attending all day bring in their lunch and attend “lunch club.”

FROM SEPTEMBER 2024 – we now offer a breakfast and after school club from 7.30 am to 4.15pm (after school Monday – Thursday only)

Funding is available for all children from the term following their third birthday (15 hours).

We are also able to offer 30 hours funding for 3- and 4-year-olds (certain criteria apply) and from September 2025 all children aged 9 months and above will be entitled to 30 hours funding providing parent(s) are working.

Children from working families can now claim 15 or 30 hours of funding from their second birthday providing they have a valid code and the application is made before the end of the term BEFORE their second birthday. Applications are made to childcarechoices.gov.uk

Funding is also available for 2-year-olds from the term following their second birthday (certain criteria applies) Applications are made to RBWM

Extra sessions are available at a cost of £15 per session. £2.50 is payable for lunchtime or your child may be collected at 2.45 pm to waiver this cost.

Parents/Carers are invoiced at the beginning of each term, and we ask that the payments are made promptly, either in full or in instalments.

Failure to settle invoices by the end of term may result in additional costs and your child losing his/her place.

Fees are due irrespective of sickness, holiday, or other non-attendance.

We require 6 weeks’ notice in writing if you intend for your child to leave the setting.

We aim to support the children in attaining a healthy lifestyle and we ask that each child brings in a piece of fruit each time they attend which is shared amongst all the children at snack time. We supply milk and water to drink.

The children drink from cups and are encouraged tom serve themselves. We do not encourage drinking from bottles or the use of dummies.

We also encourage outdoor play, and the children are given the opportunity to do so throughout the day despite weather conditions.

We support children in becoming independent in their toileting, so we ask that the children wear clothes that are easily manageable. Please also be mindful that the children use paint, glue, sand the mud kitchen, digging in mud and water so they should be dressed appropriately, preferably in clothing that are not precious. We supply aprons but many children do not like wearing them so a full set of a change of clothes is necessary.

We welcome children in nappies and ask parents to provide nappies and wipes.

Again, a spare set of clothes is also a good idea in case of accidents.

Each child will be assigned a key person who will consult with parents, see to their children’s toileting needs and ensures that the children in their care are making satisfying progress.

Most staff members are qualified to a Level 3 or above and update and refresh training when needed. All staff are first aid trained and everyone who works in the setting including students who attend on a work placement are subject to an enhanced disclosure barring service (DBS).

Children at our setting learn through play. We plan and provide learning opportunities to help the children progress by following their own individual interests at their own pace.

We assess how the children are learning and developing by observing them frequently and document their learning journey by written observations and photographs.

Parents play an important part in our preschool. We encourage parental involvement by having an open-door policy and encourage parents to spend a session with us when they can. We hold open mornings at the end of each term in which parents can come into the setting to discuss their child’s progress etc. We also have social events in which we encourage every family to attend, these are typically a boat trip in July, a Christmas Party, and other events as they happen throughout the year.

We ask parents to come into preschool to share any religious festivals with us. Parents are also invited to share any talents or hobbies with us also.

Our preschool is a registered charity and so we rely on fundraising to enable us to buy resources etc. We are governed by a committee which is made of parents. We always welcome anyone who would like to join us.

If you have any further questions or would like to visit the setting, please contact us and we can arrange a suitable time for you and your child to spend some time with us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
