About us
Lilliput Learners Preschool is a private voluntary independent setting (PVI) which is a registered charity and committee led.
Our staff are highly qualified with the supervisor holding a foundation degree in Early Years. All are qualified in paediatric first aid trained and attend training throughout the year when required.
We have a wealth of experience with our manager being at the helm for over 20 years and others not to far behind!
We pride ourselves in having the ability to build Lego, make mud cakes, sing, dance and read a story all at the same time!!!!
Everyone, including our committee members hold a relevant enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) to ensure safer recruitment practices.
We are a Pre-school with learning led play and creative fun. We are situated on the Dedworth Schools complex and operate from a community room which is also a part of Dedworth Library. We enjoy a well-equipped, private play area both indoors and outdoor with a sensory shed in our garden.
We receive Local Authority funding, and are regularly inspected by OFSTED. We comply with all relevant day care regulations. As members of the PLA (Pre-School Learning Alliance), we have access to training and support facilities. We also have Public Liability Insurance.
Learning through play: Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking. In our setting we plan for each individual child and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress.
Experiences: At Lilliput Learners we pride ourselves in allowing the children to gain confidence and become active learners. We do this by providing the children with various activities that they might not experience in their daily lives. If you have any questions or would like to visit us, please get in touch, telephone 01753 858774 or email cathharmanlilliputlearners@gmail.com
Healthy lifestyles
We aim to support the children in attaining a healthy lifestyle and we ask that each child brings in a piece of fruit each time they attend which is shared amongst all the children at snack time. We supply milk and water to drink.
The children drink from cups and are encouraged to serve themselves. We do not encourage drinking from bottles or the use of dummies.
We also encourage outdoor play, and the children are given the opportunity to do so throughout the day despite weather conditions.
We are registered to accommodate 30 children per session and cater for children from 2 years until they start First School
Reading: We have a library system which enables children to take home books and return them when finished.
Parents: As a Charity run Pre-school we have a committee who are dedicated to keeping costs to parents to a minimum. We depend on the goodwill of parents and their involvement. Parents are asked to donate items such as soap and tissues etc. which enables us to keep the cost of fees down.
